Add a company by its tax ID

When the customer is a company, there is no need to copy the legal name, address and registration status field by field. Just enter the CNPJ, the Brazilian company tax ID.

How it works

1. In the Customers app, open Companies and create a new company.
2. Type the CNPJ.
3. The platform checks the Brazilian tax authority (Receita Federal) and fills in the company details, such as legal name, trade name and address.
4. Review and save.

If the CNPJ is already registered, you are warned before creating a duplicate company. If the registration status is not regular, the warning appears right away.

Link people to the company

Once created, the company can be linked to the profiles of the people who work there, with each person's role. This way, Helena, an architect, knows who decides and who only follows a corporate client's project.

Why this matters

Data copied by hand has mistakes, and mistakes cost money: an invoice with the wrong legal name, a visit to an old address, a proposal sent to someone who does not decide. Filling in by tax ID keeps the record correct from the first minute.

If the tax authority is unavailable

The lookup is retried automatically. You can save the company and the details are completed as soon as the tax authority responds.
